Going back to childhood and remembering such a happy stage of life is wonderful. Today I want to share what we have lived recently in Tapas & Blogs. We moved to Galicia, surely for some it was an unforgettable trip where they met local products but also for me, it has been like reliving things that were in my head.

A few days ago we finally had our second Tapas & Blogs meeting in the oldest bar in Madrid, located very close to the Royal Theater. Tavern "The Crusade" (1827). On its website you can read a brief summary of the story where they comment that some of their famous clients were Valle-Inclán, the Machado brothers, Benito Perez Galdós and even King Alfonso XII himself.
This is a typical American that you should not miss. Very close to Columbia University and the largest Cathedral in Manhattan, is Tom's, a 40's place full of anecdotes and familiar faces. Here came the president of the United States to eat Obama, and even Suzzane Vega made them a song.
We are back! I hope you have had a great holiday, that you have taken advantage of them and that you are already prepared for what is coming. Today we do not bring recipes neither Vicky nor me, although we already have some lists ... it is still August, so - at least we - we will hurry the last hours until the end.
They had told me about how well they ate in Rome and it is absolutely true, I don't know if they eat equally well anywhere in this city, but we were very lucky to take a lot of recommendations from friends from Madrid who had lived there. This restaurant is a small trattoria that should have been open for 60 years.
But as I could forget one of the most wonderful bakeries in Rome! I can't believe I haven't told you about Josefine's Bakery yet ... As you can see they have a website where they offer their services for weddings, communions, meetings, parties ... The shop is wonderful, with a very careful aesthetic, with stone walls, mixed with the arches that cross from one space to another painted in light tones, the counters with untouched windows and a beautiful light ... Everything evokes an incredible peace, but when you see the cakes, the muffins, the candies, the boxes decorated with taste ... hummm .
This trattoria is very easy to find because it is a small street that leaves Via Corso Enmanuelle at the height of Piazza Navonna. It is curious to see the pizzas served in the large metal plates, the rosso wine in a beautiful jar, the hustle and bustle of the waiters from here to there constantly and the "bill" drawn on the paper tablecloth.
Another family Trattoría, with glued tables and red checkered tablecloths. It is the place where I have had the best pasta I have ever tasted ... "Spaghetti a la Vongole" ... -It makes my mouth water just thinking of them-, you can not even imagine how they enhance the flavors to which they always add a spicy dot
Tango bar is one of the best known international restaurants in Stavanger (Norway). It opened its doors in 2003 and is very popular for its good food and for the lack of “menu”, also won the Gladmat or “Happy food” festival prize in 2005. Every day, Tango surprises its guests with a new menu , which of course varies depending on the season of the year and the seasonal product in the markets, which ensures quality and freshness.
In the Porchetta you will find spicy pork sandwiches at 10 dollars, yes it is a bit expensive !!! The place is very small and barely has 4 benches to sit on an impromptu bar, it also has a tiny terrace at the entrance of the premises. There is no coke, its place is an ecological tail.
The Gaucho is always up to the flag. Inside and outside, even January and the thermometer in Pamplona does not exceed 7 degrees. After one in the afternoon, the place boils. Pintxos that come and go, quarter-liter cider bottles that are uncorked, people who take the opportunity to have a wine before going home to eat ... Javi and I were there the other day.
Arrive in Elciego (Álava) by car, making its way through pampered strains that await the fruit of this year. Face to face with the whim of reflective titanium that gave birth to Frank Gehry, who was captivated between the dampness and the narrow, dark corridors of the Marquis de Riscal Cathedral, with a bottle of the year of his birth.
Each time we need a longer and longer table. The Tapas & Blogs has given a huge stretch in just 3 games and I am very happy. This time the 30 bloggers set out to do an tasting of Oils in the capital, at the Vino y Oliva Restaurant located at 83 Prince Street (Diego de León Metro or Avenida de América).
It could not be otherwise. In NY you have to try the quintessential Yankee food, a great hamburger with everything a hamburger should bring. This is a place of American food, so I think we all know what we are going to find: large-scale hamburgers and rechargeable Coca Cola, French fries and a lot of kepchup, but many other things ... like sandwiches, endless nachos, prawns to the irons, onion rings ... If you want to get to the top it is a good place.
“Under the Brookling bridge” is one of the best known pizzerias in this part of NY, Grimaldi's Pizzeria. Like the Lombardi's, it is also well known, in particular it has a special charm for the location. Do not be scared if you see many people at the door, many pizzas are to go, so it usually goes fast.
Asía de Cuba mixes totally different kitchens, but the result is surprising. The place is quite "intimate", with low lights, white curtains and areas that seem reserved, in this of the decorations you already know that there is something for everyone. For you to see it better I have raised the light of the photo quite a bit.
The most mythical site of Coney Island is called Nathan's Famous !!! Welcome to the best known sausage in NY with its headquarters is this mythical beach. Of course the food can not be considered healthy, but if you are a little Yankee geek you can not miss it and also the dogs are really good.
I love! Months ago I discovered this restaurant in one of the areas I like most in Madrid. I don't know if you know that whenever I have a chance I like to go to the Royal Theater to see opera. It is not that I am a person understood in the subject, but I like it a lot and I enjoy a lot every time I go, so if the opportunity arises, I do not waste it.
An Italian restaurant where all products come directly from Italy with a wood-fired oven than usual? Yes, it exists and I recommend it especially to those who live in the northwest area of Madrid. In Villanueva de la Cañada I discovered a few years ago "De Gustibus" that is not a luxury place but the pizzas and pasta are really good.
The return to school of Tapas & Blogs is celebrated this time in the Wogaboo restaurant chain. Wogaboo is a restaurant of modern design, with a New York style, very dim light, pleasant atmosphere, music ... so I have been able to investigate, the decoration has been carried out by Ignacio Garcia de Vinuesa.
This summer I will recommend several sites and I want to point out that they are not sponsored, nor do they pay me to talk about them or anything like that, they are places where I have been personally and that I liked. In fact, a friend told me a few days ago why I didn't talk to you about the places I don't like, but I think it's in bad taste ... I'd rather talk about the ones that convince me.
